The laboratory fridge-freezer combination has been specially developed for storing ethyl ether, acetone, alcohol, benzene, butane, gasoline, hexane, lacquer solvents, and other potentially flammable materials. The interior of the device fulfils the safety requirements of the ATEX Directive 94/9/EC Annex VIII.

If the temperature drops below 2 °C in case of malfunction, the +2 °C SafetyDevice function activates an alarm and keeps the temperature stable to protect sensitive substances from freezing. The integrated data logger records temperature profile, alarm history, and service information and can be read out via the USB interface.
