In the event of a significant imbalance, operation of the centrifuge is automatically stopped. Deceleration at the end of a run is very quick, but will not disrupt samples. Supplied with a uniquely designed 24 x 1.5 ml/2.0 ml rotor that allows easy access to the tops of the sample tubes. Individual tube slots in the solid aluminum rotor support tubes along their length and contain the sample in the event of tube failure. The rotor is seated on a tapered shaft which facilitates easy removal for cleaning and autoclaving.

The Spectrafuge? 24D combines innovations such as a unique, easy access rotor, exclusive multi-flow air cooling system and high performance drive with a digital microprocessor that precisely regulates operation. Parameters are selected with two "smart" knobs and values are shown on large, easy to read, LED displays. Speed can be set and displayed in rpm or g-force. Runs can be set timed, continuous or momentary.
The unique design of the 24-place rotor allows easy access to the tops of the tubes. An optional StripSpin? adapter fits onto the rotor for spinning 0.2ml tubes and strips. A powerful, brushless motor quickly accelerates the rotor to set speed. Air enters the centrifuge through vents on the back of the housing and it is circulated in multiple directions to maximize cooling. The result is a cool running microcentrifuge that keeps samples close to ambient temperature, even during extended runs at maximum speed. For samples that require below ambient temperatures, the Spectrafuge 24D may be used in a cold room.

The Heraeus? Pico? & Fresco? microcentrifuges from Thermo combine productivity, versatility, safety and convenience in a compact, easy to-use lab instrument. Available in 17000 x g and 21000 x g models, both the ventilated Heraeus Pico and the refrigerated Heraeus Fresco offer a range of rotors to support micro-volume protocols such as nucleic acid preparation, protein isolation and reaction set-up. Featuring a new 24 x 2ml rotor with a biocontainment lid certified by CAMR.
At the same time the Heraeus pico and Fresco convince with a high measure of user comfort: the improved control panel with clear display permits a simple programming during the equipment allows an easy cleaning itself. The new cap is arranged with an audible "clicks" and saftey locked for the complete centrifugatuion expiration. Particularly developed for laboratories,which use the 0.2ml to 2.0ml micro tubes, these micro centrifuges offer maximum productivity and user comfort with capacities from 12 to 48 tubes.

Microcentrifuges incl. 24 x 1.5/2.0 ml rotor with ClickSeal biocontainment lid, up to 24 microcentrifuge tubes can be centrifuged and cooled with each run.
